About Us

Ponte Neuf
The Toulouse Women’s International Group (TWIG) is a group of English speaking women, of many different nationalities, with over 200 members across a broad age range, with 70% being under 55 and nearly 50% of members having dependant children.

The principal aim of the group is to help members make contact with each other and to offer initial support to new arrivals. We provide our members with a diversity of activities and special interest groups to choose from and a regular magazine to keep you in touch. Since we began in 1985 (originally as The English Speaking Ladies Group of Toulouse, ESLG) we have aimed to put something back into the community by organising an annual Christmas Fair, with proceeds going to charity.

An English Book-Swap is open on the first Tuesday of every month from 2pm to 4pm. There is a variety of books available for members to borrow, and ongoing donations of finished books are added to the library.

Activities     Special Interest Groups     Magazine
We have an excellent activities planning team that arranges events and outings for the group once or twice a month, normally during the day to fit in with school hours. We aim for variety and recent successful activities include chateau renovation visit, museum and guided tours, a visit to a perfume factory, and a talk on French law.     We have several special interest groups, where smaller groups of members meet weekly or monthly to share their special interests such as Bridge, walking, reading, creative writing, cookery and a discussion group. Some recent additions include ‘wine & dine’, gardening, and a pot luck lunch group.     Our magazine, which is called the “Grapevine”, is issued free to our members, three times each year. It includes interesting articles and other information relevant to life in France.
