Walking Group
When & Where
The group meets around the middle of each month on a Monday or Friday.
We meet in the morning at the start of the walk, usually between 9.30 – 10.00am, with the aim of walking for about two hours. We try to find walks that are circular and on footpaths or tracks with a minimum of road walking. We aim to walk in the local area within a maximum of one hour’s drive for most members.
Organisation
We take turns to arrange each walk in pairs according to a rota organised in advance. Each walk is tried out first to make sure the length and difficulty are suitable for our members. The organisers are also responsible for finding a venue for lunch to follow the walk, which can be in a local restaurant, in a member’s house or a picnic in the summer months.
The details of each walk are e-mailed out in advance to members who can then let the organisers know that they will be attending.
