Open Door, to Associations of International Women Groups
TWIG is now a member of “Open Door, to Associations of International Women”. This organisation was started in 1980 by the President of the Stockholm International Women’s Club, Elisabeth Sammann. When travelling with her husband, a Rotarian, she was so impressed by the hospitality extended to him by fellow Rotarians in foreign cities, that she wanted to help members of International Women’s Associations have a similar reciprocity in “opening their doors to each other” when visiting or moving to a city or town in another country.
Our inclusion in the Open Door directory will enable visitors/new arrivals to Toulouse to contact us, and any TWIG members travelling or moving to another country welcome to attend events and may benefit from contact with similar Associations in that area. We are pleased to say that Karen Wilcock has agreed to take on the repsponsibility as Open Door Coordinator. She will be the first point of contact for visitors, or new arrivals, coming via Open Door and will also hold their directory of member groups.
