TWIG News!

The 2018 TWIG CHRISTMAS FAIR will be held on Saturday 1st December in Pibrac. Stallholder registrations will be sent before end September. Look out for the posters, coming soon …

This year we will be hosting another WORLD’S BIGGEST COFFEE MORNING in aid of Macmillan Cancer support on Wednesday 26th September, from 9h30 to 12 noon, in the Salle des Aines, Blvd des Ecoles, Pibrac ( Christmas Fair café venue ).
Please come along to eat cake and donate!

The annual TWIG GARDEN PARTY was held on Monday 18th June. It was a lovely occasion, with fabulous food prepared and enjoyed by everyone in a pretty garden setting in Bretx. Thank you to everyone who came and shared their delicious dishes and to Sam Bevis and Tara Knight for organising the event.

We raised €702.20 for the MS charity AFSEP at our SUMMER BOOK SALE on 26th May. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success!

Our three chosen charities for this year, as voted by members at the AGM, to receive donations from the TWIG 2018 CHRISTMAS FAIR are: Action Froid an association that helps the homeless around Toulouse, BRACE a small Bristol based charity who raise funds to support dementia research and Callum’s Cabin who offer family holidays on the Isle of Bute in Scotland for children suffering with cancer.

BIRTHDAY FIZZ held on 8th March, coincidentally International Women’s Day, celebrating 33 years of TWIG. Thank you to Mary Budgen and Tara Knight for organising a tasty lunchtime menu at the D’Artagnan restaurant in L’Isle Jourdain.

The TWIG CHRISTMAS LUNCH was enjoyed by all at the Brasserie Les Pins Galants in Tournefeuille. Thank you to Sally Burridge for organising a fun event.

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the TWIG 2017 CHRISTMAS FAIR – the three charities who were voted by members to benefit from the fair were Chats du Quercy who find the right home for cats who have been abandoned, mistreated or can no longer be cared for by their owner, Voile Handi Valide who give people of all ages with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy a safe and pleasurable experience of sailing and Enfance Adolescence et Diabete who aid children living with mellitus diabetes to incorporate it into their everyday lives. Cheques for €3,730 were presented to each charity at the AGM on 28th March 2018

WORLD’S BIGGEST COFFEE MORNING – a big thank you to everyone who supported our Macmillan event on 27th September. We raised an amazing €870 this year for Cancer Support.

Thanks to you all the 2016 CHRISTMAS FAIR was a huge success and raised €3,800 for each of our three chosen charities: IJA ( Institut des Jeunes Aveugles de Toulouse ) who support young blind people locally to integrate into normal school and everyday life, MSF ( Medecins sans Frontiere ) who bring urgent medical help to those who need it around the world and Trisomie 21 a charity in Toulouse which supports those with Down’s Syndrome and their families. Cheques were presented to each charity at the AGM on 29th March 2017
