I am not receiving any TWIG emails?
Emails will only be sent to members who have put an email address on their membership form.

If you have have an email address on your membership form you may only be receiving the weekly / bi-weekly activities update but nothing from the SIG’s. This could be because you have not registered to be a member of a SIG. Only members signed up to a specific SIG will receive emails regarding that SIG. The majority of members do not want to receive emails regarding SIG’s they have no interest in.

If you are not receiving any weekly / bi-weekly activities or SIG emails (for SIG’s that you are a signed up member of) then you need to contact the Membership Secretary and SIG coordinator to insure your email details are correct on the relevant databases.

What charities does TWIG support?
Every year TWIG choose two main Charities to support and one adopted Charity. You have an opportunity at the annual AGM to nominate your favoured registered charity and by a vote, the charities will be selected – it is YOU that nominates and decides. The two charities receiving the highest number of votes become the “Christmas Fair Charities”. The charity in third place becomes the “TWIG Adopted Charity” for the year, and will benefit from any other fundraising events or donations received during the year.
Past years, have seen TWIG supporting Lea Pour Samy, Victoria Benevolent Fund, Wateraid, Chiens Guides d’Aveugles du Sud-Ouest, Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity (SANDS), Association Olympe de Gouges, Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group, Women for Women, Macmillan, Oscar’s Angels and Camfed

Can I put forward a charity for TWIG to support?
All members have an opportunity to put forward a charity for TWIG to Support. Registered Charities may only be put forward for consideration at the AGM. To put forward a charity you will need to complete a charity nomination form. This form is issued to all TWIG members via email every January. The completed form is then returned to the TWIG secretary before mid- February. All charity nominations are then sent out to TWIG members with a brief description on each charity. E Mail Policy

Advertising and E-mail Communication

We are aware that, at times, we generate a high number of e-mails yet we continuously receive requests to forward on ‘useful’ information. We find that it not always easy to differentiate between items of community interest and advertising. One person’s “really useful mail” is someone else’s “Spam”

What will be sent out via E-mail communication?

With the exception of the weekly “What’s on”, ‘blanket’ e-mails will only be used for pressing issues that need urgent action. In all cases, such e-mails may only be sent out via the committee. Urgent requests should be sent to our e-mail secretary

The weekly “What’s on” sent out via e-mail includes a summary of new notices, together with a direct link to the twigsite notice board. Members will then have the choice as to whether they access the information, or not.

Can I have an email with items for sale sent to all TWIG Members?

In an effort to reduce the volume of e-mail traffic, and to provide a single source of such information, a “NOTICE BOARD” has been set up.

There are five areas to the Notice board:

  1. Community Noticeboard: for local information, including contact details for other organisations (e.g. Scouts)
  2. Member Notices: requests for help/information (e.g. lost cats or baby sitter wanted) and invitations to non-Twig events (e.g. private lunch for charity, craft exhibition etc.)
  3. For Sale/Wanted: member “moving sales” and adverts for goods and services.
  4. Business Classified Ads ; Please note that ‘business’ ads will only be accepted when a paid advertisement is also in the Grapevine.
  5. Charities – giving information about the three charities chosen each year by TWIG members at the AGM

Your requests should be e-mailed directly to the Committee in the exact form you wish to see it on the Notice Board and, where possible, your ‘notice’ should be in attachment form (ideally in MS Word or Publisher)
