April’s TWIG cinema group film Boy Erased has come around quickly due to the Easter holidays.

Synopsis – Jared Eamons, the son of a small-town Baptist pastor, must overcome the fallout after being outed as gay to his parents. His father and mother struggle to reconcile their love for their son with their beliefs. Fearing a loss of family, friends and community, Jared is pressured into attending a conversion therapy programme. While there Jared comes into conflict with it’s leader and begins his journey to finding his own voice and accepting his true self.

We will be meeting for lunch before the film and staying for drinks afterwards to discuss the film.

Group information:

This is a group that aims to meet monthly to enjoy spending an afternoon together watching a good film.

The Utopia Cinema in Tournefeuille shows films in VO with French subtitles making it accessible for both our anglophone and francophone members. It also has a bistrot/restaurant within which allows us to have lunch together before the film and then afterwards drinks to chat and discuss the film.

Members are also welcome to join us just for the film if they wish.

Tickets – 4.50/7 euros depending on the seance.
