The Quilting Group
History
For over twenty years the quilting group has been meeting with the basic aim of making quilts to be raffled for charity at the TWIG Christmas fair.
Over the years many different nationalities have come and gone within the group and we hope our quilts have reflected this. We have made quilts to celebrate the French bicentenary and the millennium.
We have evolved into a small but happy group. The members are of different skill levels and abilities. If you can hold a needle and like cake you will be very welcome.
When/Where & How
We meet every Tuesday afternoon between 2 – 6 pm including school holidays, using chez Susan Higgs in Menville (nr Lévignac). There is never any shortage of tea / coffee and cakes! (we also celebrate our birthdays – another excuse to lunch!).
We begin in January by choosing the design and then shop for the fabrics. You will then learn to ‘piece’ or ‘appliqué’ a quilt top, put it together and quilt it. If you would like to learn to make your own quilt, we can give you lots of help and support. You don’t need to be an expert needlewoman to join us.
For further information, please call Susan on 05 61 85 82 99.
