NEXT WALK and Visit

Our next walk will be on Friday 26th April a city walk hosted by Anne Ramsay.

Meet at 10.00am at Blagnac Bridge. There is parking beside the Garonne at the end of the bridge off to the left coming from Blagnac, down the hill near the restaurant Les Jardins de l’Olympe.

We will walk along the banks of the Garonne and then along the Canal de Brienne to Pont des Catalans where we will cross over and walk on the other side of the river until we reach Pont St Michel, passing through Prairie des Filtres. At this end of the park we will cross back over to explore the new viewpoint and walk along the new pathway.

We will return to Blagnac by tram. I will have tickets if you haven’t got one. From the tram stop at Servanty Airbus we can walk back to the cars and the restaurant for lunch.

This will be a riverside walk where we will pass through a variety of built up but often open scenery, all on good paths and mainly flat. It will take approximately 2 hours.

Please can you let Kelly know if you would like to join us for the walk & meal or just the walk so we can reserve our places at the restaurant.

CONTACT DETAILS
If you would like to join the walking group or would like more information on the group please contact Kelly Davies ( details in the TWIG booklet ).

Walking Group

When & Where

The group aims to meet each month. We meet in the morning at the start of the walk, usually between 9.30 – 10.00am, with the aim of walking for about two hours ( Dogs and Families welcome). We try to find walks that are circular and on footpaths or tracks with a minimum of road walking. We aim to walk in the local area within a maximum of one hour’s drive for most members.

Organisation

We take turns to arrange each walk. Each walk is tried out first to make sure the length and difficulty are suitable for our members. The organisers are also responsible for finding a venue for lunch to follow the walk, which can be in a local restaurant, in a member’s house or a picnic in the summer months.
The details of each walk are e-mailed out in advance to members who can then let the organisers know that they will be attending.

Walking Group Photos

The group had a lovely walk at Villemur sur Tarn on Friday 29th September. At first the path followed along the banks of the river Tarn then climbed onto a ridge behind the town for great views. The weather was glorious. Afterwards we had a good lunch in an Italian restaurant nearby.
